Grain populations in the M 17 south - west star forming complex ?

چکیده

The different spectral components of the 3–12 μm dust emission are imaged in the M 17 south-west molecular cloud / HII region interface. The various images result from a combination of space borne (ISO) and ground based (CFHT) observations. A spatial correlation analysis shows that there are two main components, which correspond to the continuum (including broad features) and to the emission bands (3.3, 6.2, 7.7 and 11.3 μm) respectively. The former peaks towards the HII region whereas the later dominates at the molecular cloud interface. This is consistent with a model which attributes the bands to PAH molecules and the continuum to very small grains. In the frame of the coal dust model, these observations put constraints on the properties of the grains, implying a band-to-continuum ratio which varies strongly with the excitation conditions. This analysis, which points out the signature of very small particles, does not favor one model relative to the other.

Effects of post-anthesis heat stress and nitrogen levels on grain yield in wheat (T. durum and T. aestivum) genotypes

In order to study the effects of post-anthesis heat stress and nitrogen levels on grain yield and yield components of wheat genotypes, two separate field experiments were conducted in delayed and optimum sowing dates under Ahvaz conditions (2006-2007). The Ahvaz site located in south west of Iran (32°20' N, 40°20' E) with subtropical climate condition. The experiment site had a moderate w...

Complex Chemistry in Star-Forming Regions: An Expanded Gas-Grain Warm-up Chemical Model

Gas-phase processes were long thought to be the key formation mechanisms for complex organic molecules in star-forming regions. However, recent experimental and theoretical evidence has cast doubt on the efficiency of such processes. Grain-surface chemistry is frequently invoked as a solution, but until now there have been no quantitative models taking into account both the high degree of chemi...

Latest Diversity Trend and Seasonal Abundance of Population of Zooplankton (Holoplankton) Communities in the South Caspian Sea, Iran

Seasonal variations of zooplankton communities were studied in the southern Caspian Sea for 4 successive seasons and 8 transects with 5 stations from 5 to 100 m depths which sampled during 2009. The zooplankton population constituted of 73.33% copepods, 24.21% rotifers, 2.23% cladocerans and 0.23% protozoans. Copepods were dominant at all stations with a density between 1456±531 ind. m-3 (Trans...
